Environmental wellbeing

The Consortium’s activities put an emphasis on the concept of the bioeconomy towards the transition to a sustainable agriculture and “agriculture of well-being”. In the exploitation of the potential agro-farming resources and production techniques for added value products, the project aims not to alter the environmental balance of it yet preserving social justice and inclusiveness, helping to improve the quality of life of farmers, as well as promoting the well-being of rural areas and society as a whole.

Human wellbeing

The well-being benefits from living in rural areas are well recognized and supported by the global literature. There is an increasing agreement that greater involvement of local rural communities can contribute to and promote this well-being. The SWEDA Project aims to combine the work of the primary sector with several other functions that affect the quality of production, biodiversity and conservation of the rural human aspect.

Animal wellbeing

Animal welfare is another issue for SWEDA, fully adhering to Measure 14 on Animal Welfare and Support for Farmers Implementing Measures to Improve the Status of Farmed Animals, in addition to the mandatory minimum requirements laid down in Cross-Compliance ((EU) Reg. n. 1306/2013).
